Daniel was born in Málaga (Spain) in 1984. He is a jazz saxophone player, with his roots on the bebop language, but also influenced by avant garde and other different types of musics.

He holds a Bachelor of music degree in “Saxophone Jazz Performance” by the “Prins Claus Conservatorium” (Groningen, Holland), and a Master of music degree in the same field by the “Conservatorium van Amsterdam” (Amsterdam, Holland). He has also studied, as an exchange student, at "SUNY Purchase College" (New York) and "Humber College" (Toronto, Canada).

He has performed at different venues and festivals around Europe and North America. Such as “Bimhuis” (Holland), “International Rotterdam Jazz Festival” (Holland), "Jazz in Church" (Romania), "Canadian Opera House" (Canada) or “Portón del Jazz Festival” (Spain). During his career he has shared the stage with several great artists, such as Benny Golson, Dado Moroni, Peter Bernstein, Eric Alexander, John Bestsch, Kirk MacDoand, Fabio Miano, Perico Sambeat, Bob Sands, Dado Moroni, John Clayton, Mark Gross, Don Braden, David Berkman, Alex Sipiagin, Enrique Oliver, Radio Romanian Big Band, BvR Big Band, etc...

In 2014, as a member of the "BvR Big Band", he won the first prize at the "18th Meerjazz International Big Band Competition", which is one of the most relevant european big band contests. As well, in 2016, he has awared with the first prize at the fourth edition of the “Johnny Răducanu International Jazz Competition“ in the soloist category, in Brăila, Romania.

Since August 2016 until December 2017 he lived in Bucharest (Romania), where he has been an important part of the city's musical jazz scene, collaborating with the Romanian Radio Big Band and being involved in other several musical projects. At the end of 2017 he moved back to Málaga, there he combines his activities as a teacher and as a performer.

In May 2019 he recorded his first CD as a leader: “First Statement”, alongside jazz masters Peter Bernstein and Perico Sambeat, besides making a European concert tour with that band. The CD will be soon available on "Outside in Music", a jazz label based in New York. "First Statement" is a compendium of Daniel's original songs and features a sextet of some of the best jazz musicians of nowadays.

Daniel nació en Málaga. Es un saxofonista de jazz, con sus raíces en el lenguaje de bebop pero también influenciado por el avant garde y otros tipos de música. Posee un título superior en la especialidad de saxofón jazz por el “Prins Claus Conservatorium” (Groningen, Holanda), y un título de máster en la misma especialidad por el “Conservatorium van Amsterdam” (Amsterdam, Holanda). También ha estudiado durante varios meses como estudiante de intercambio en los conservatorios "SUNY Purchase College" (Nueva York, EEUU) y "Humber College" (Toronto, Canada).

Ha actuado en diferentes clubes y festivales en Europa y Norte América. Tales como “Bimhuis” (Amsterdam, Holanda), “International Rotterdam Jazz Festival” (Rotterdam, Holanda), "Jazz in Church" (Bucharest, Rumania), "Four Seasons Center" (Toronto, Canada), “Ploiești International Jazz Festival” (Ploiești, Rumania), “International Portón del Jazz Festival” (Málaga, España)… Ha compartido escenario con grandes músicos como Benny Golson, Dado Moroni, Peter Bernstein, Eric Alexander, John Bestsch, Kirk MacDoand, Perico Sambeat, Bob Sands, Dado Moroni, John Clayton, Mark Gross, Don Braden, David Berkman, Alex Sipiagin, Enrique Oliver, Radio Romanian Big Band, BvR Big Band, etc...

En 2014, como miembro de la "BvR Big Band", obtiene el primer premio en la "18th Meerjazz International Big Band Competition", una de las competiciones de big bands más prestigiosas de Europa. En 2016 es galardonado con el primer premio en la cuarta edición del “Johnny Răducanu International Jazz Festival“, en Brăila, Rumania, en la categoría de solista.

Desde 2016 hasta finales de 2017 ha estado residiendo en Bucharest (Rumania), donde colaboraba regularmente con la Romanian Radio Big Band y con otros grandes músicos. Actualmente reside en Málaga, su ciudad natal, donde compagina su labor de docente con los conciertos.

En Mayo de 2016 grabó su primer album como lider "First Statement" (discográfica: Outside in Music), liderando un sexteto del que forman parte Peter Bernstein, Perico Sambeat, Sri Hanuraga, João Pereira y Romeu Tristão. Este grupo podrá ser visto pronto en diferentes festivales de jazz internacionales donde Daniel estará presentando este proyecto.
